ROLLER SKIDS

The Roller Skids deliver maximum reliability at very reasonable prices. High quality has been a trademark of the Smaco for many years. A wide variety of styles are available to cope with every kind of moving
job.
Types : It is available in six roller
styles.
The Smaco1 has only one roller and is compact in size for easy
handling.
The Smaco2 offers two rollers for more size and stability.
The Smaco3 and Junior have three rollers for higher capacity.
In contrast, the Smaco4 and Smaco5 are equipped with chains instead of
rollers.
The Smaco6 is provided with six rollers and combines high capacity with
smooth, quiet operation.
TOP PLATES :A large variety of top plate designs are available.
Options include : holding teeth, swivel turntable, rubber pads, and a trigger locking mechanism which can be operated with a special T-Bar
handle.
CAPACITY: Capacity for the single Smaco Series Roller Skids range from 0.75 to 15
tons. This wide range of capacities allows for most of any customer
application.
ROLLERS :The Smaco1,2,3 and 6 are available using polyurethane, nylon or metal rollers. Each roller uses two high quality shielded ball bearings for easy mobility. The Smaco4 chain is composed of twelve rollers.
The Smaco 5 chain consists of fourteen rollers and is also wider for a more favorable distribution of
weight.
ACCESSORIES :Available accessories include T-Bar handles and tandem connectors Tandem connectors enable units to be connected together, increasing capacity, reducing moving time, and improving
balance.
KITS :All Smaco Roller Skid styles are available as a kit. Each kit contains 4 rollers, T-Bar handle
and tandem connectors. All parts fit into a heavy duty steel carrying case for easy mobility to any job ( Standard for Junior, Smaco 1 to 4 Kits, optional for Smaco 5 and 6 )

CONFIGURATION :- The system will have following features :-
* It will have number of carriers suspended closely on a pair of heavy duty endless
chains interconnected through a common shaft and driven by reversing electric motor through
a suitable reduction gear box. Each carrier will accommodate number of steel / plastic
bins.
It will be possible to enter the codes of
different components and their address and the quantity when the storage system is fed and to bring
the particular bin for unloading when the component number is fed through a keyboard.

A Computer or microprocessor would be
controlling this operation. A bulb will get illuminated for the items called
for. The drive part of the system consists of a motor, gear box, chains and sprockets,
brake, hand cranking etc will be on the right hand side and will be fully accessible to the maintenance people without providing access to the bins.
It will be possible to do the hand cranking in case of power failure of any other defect in
the system for taking the material out. The other side will have the controller, Sensors and
relays fuses etc.
The long shelves will be sturdy enough to
take the specified load of the components and the bins. The carriers will be designed with
the provision for partition plates for creating internal bins. Carriers will have front
retainers of 150 mm.
The system will have single window wherein material shall go inside and come outside from the single window. The window will be on the front
side.
CONTROLS / KEYBOARD :-A membrane type keyboard will be mounted
on the carousel which will be used for carrier no bin/no calling. Manual UP / DN operation of
the carousel will be through 2 push buttons switches provides on the control panel. Interfacing with computer will be throughRS232 port provided in the control panel.
The display unit will have 7 segment type 6 digits display in 1 row only for computer mode
the display unit will be the computer monitor itself. The software will provide a facility to
the operator to create a database for the components stored in the carousel.
Database will have data for each component like component number, description, carrier number, bin number, present qty., max.level, min.level. The present qty will be
updated as per the transacted qty after the transaction. A stock report printing facility will be
provided from the software.
SYSTEM OPERATION :The carousel operation will be by 4 types :Component to calling
operation. List mode operation./Carrier no calling operation/ Manual up / down push
button operation.
Component no calling operation : Operator can select this made of operation through
software proved by us. In this mode of operation, operator will enter the called component
no Carousel will rotate and the called carrier no .will be made available at the operating window. While carousel is rotating details of
called components will be displayed in the monitor. This will include the present stock level,
min. level and max. level along with the present carrier no. called carrier no. and bin no.
Once called carrier is at operator window, operator will enter the type of transaction (issue /receipt) and the quantity to the transacted. Operator will complete the transaction and
the software will be ready for the next operation.
List mode : Software will provide facility
to prepare a list of components to be transacted from carousel. Operator will select the
list operation mode after the list is prepared. Once the operator selects List mode monitor
will show details of first components to be transacted. The details will be as
described earlier. The computer will ensure that the minimum carousel rotation will be done
while taking up the components from the list of transaction. Operator will press a key so
that the carousel will rotate and will get first components carrier in the operator window. Operator will complete the transaction
and press a key so the next components from the list will be displayed on the monitor. In
this way the operator will complete the list of all the components which are pending for transaction. Once the transaction is complete the
said component will be erased from the list of pending components. Once all the
components are transacted and the list is empty the same will be indicated on the monitor.
Carrier number calling operation : Operator
will select Carrier no calling operation from a software provided. Required carrier
number can be entered through a computer keyboard provided on the unit. After entering the
carrier number press a defined key to start the carousel. Carousel will rotate and will stop
at required carrier number by following the shortest route. After doing this operator will press defined
key which will end the operation of carousel and the carousel will be ready for the next
operation.
Manual up / dn. push button operation :Operation of the carousel is recommended
only if computer / microprocessor provided in carousel fails. The same can be identified
by random characters on display. Operation of the carousel will be by keeping up/ dn. pushbutton in pushed condition. Carousel will
stop when the push button is released. Any transaction of loading & unloading will not
be stopped. In case the operator wishes to view individual or will select view mode and
will enter the carrier number to be viewed.
PAINTING :Carriers in the system will be painted after
Red oxide primer with finish coat of Siemens Gray air drying enamel paint. All Cladding
members will be powder coated in the required shade or with our standard color in Dark Gray and
Bone Gray Shed.
SAFETY :The system will be provided with suitable
safety devices to guard the system from any damage and also for the safety of the operator. Structure will be stable and will not fall /collapse/ bulge causing any harm to the surroundings. Two photoelectric sensors
are provided along the access post to detect any projection from the shelf. If detected
the carousel stops operation and the error is indicated in the display. Two
additional safety contact bars are provided at the top &bottom of the access port. The carousel
stops operation if these bars are pressed and the error is indicated in the display. An
emergency stop button is also provided on the system
.ELECTRICALS :All Electrical components will be confirming toISI standard. Contactors of
TELEMECANIQUE make, Relays - PLA make, Single phase preventor - SANVEE make, Photo sensors &Proximity switches of ALPHATRONICS
make, ICTP is also included in our scope. LUBRICANTS :Periodic lubrication is necessary.
